This a great movie, from the opening scene, until the credit roll, we were all
into the movie!! Just think about it, if you could be invisible what would you
do? This movie shows exactly what Bacon would do!! Its about a team of scientist
who are hired by the government to patton a top secret weapon. They begin their
study on lab animals. Until they decide to begin testing humans, and things go
terribly wrong!!! Until next time we will see you at the movies !!
Gary and Larry
X-Men
Starring: Hally Berry, Patrick Stewart
Rating: Quadruple Thumbs Up!!
We may be partial on this review, because we were big X-men fans as children!!
The movie is packed with action, and there is even drama and comedy thrown in by
a very strong all star cast!! This may be more of a guys movie, especially if
you are into death and lots of destruction, but we suggest taking a chance by
taking your girlfriends, what's the worst that can happen!! Have fun, and we
will see you at the movies!! Gary and Larry!!
The
Patriot
Starring: Mel Gibson
Rating: Quintuple Thumbs Up!!!!!
We have to say for the record, this is a great movie, and not just because we
are in it!! The movie is the story of Benjamin Martin, a man who is forced into
war when the British invade America. We promise you will laugh, and cry. This
movie hits on every emotion you have!! Its the feel good movie of the summer!!
You can look for us in the last battle of the movie, when the British chase the Americans
over the big hill, we are right beside General Burwell, you see us six times!!
We don't have to use ourselves to sell this movie, trust us it sell itself!!
Until next time we will see you at the movies!! Gary and Larry!!
What
Lies Beneath
Starring: Harrison Ford, Michele Pfeiffer,
Rating: Quadruple Thumbs Up!!
We suggest everyone go out and see this movie. If you love nonstop suspense,
then this is the movie for you!! Ford plays a cheating husband who tries
to hide the affair from his wife played by Pfeiffer. When his former girlfriend
refuses to be silenced, even from the grave, things start getting very
interesting around the house. We are sure that you will agree that this
movie draws you in and keeps you there until the credits roll!! Until next time,
we will see you at the movies!!! Gary and Larry!!
Scary
Movie
Starring: The Wayans Brothers
Rating: Quintuple Thumbs Up!!!! LOL
There is nothing to say, except that if you don't laugh hysterically when you
see this movie, then you need to seek help!! We laughed until we cried!! This
movie spoofs all of the horror movies you have ever seen before, and it does it
very well!! The theater was full when we saw it, and the laughs never stopped!!
If your feeling down, or just need a good laugh, then this movie is exactly what
you need!! Have fun, we did!! Until next time, we will see you at the movies!!
Gary and Larry
Bless
the Child
Starring: Jimmy Smits and Kim Bassinger
Rating: Quadruple Thumbs Up!!
We have to begin by saying that Kim Bassinger gives the best performance we have
see in her career thus far!! She plays a psychiatric nurse, who is forced into
motherhood, when her younger sister shows up after 3 years of being a runaway,
and leaves a one week old baby on her doorstep!! This turns out to be not just
any child, but a chosen child! Its isn't until 6 years later, that evil
comes looking for the child!! Bassinger must do whatever she can to save this
child, including seeking the help of detective Smitts, but it looks like its
going to take a power higher that his to help this little girl!! This is a great
movie although it does touch on religion and views on heaven and hell. Until
next time, we will see you at the movies! -- Gary and Larry
Gossip
Starring: James Marsden, Joshua Jackson
Rating: Quadruple Thumbs Up!
We really got into this movie, if you are the kind of person who likes to figure
out the movie before the end, then this is a movie for you!! The basic plot of
the movie begins when 3 friends decide to spread a rumor around their campus,
and monitor how fast the gossip spreads, and how much it is changed around. Keep
in mind they do not have any regard for they people who are affected by the
rumor. This movie delivers great performances by the young cast, as well as a surprise
ending that will leave you stunned. Its a must see, and you might think twice
before you pass on the latest gossip you hear!!
"U-571"
Starring: Matthew McConahay, Bill Paxton, and Harvey Kietel
Rating: Quadruple Thumbs Up
This is definitely a GUYS movie, but women will enjoy it, not to be sexist to
all the ladies!! Its a great movie filled with submarines, explosives, and lots
of machine guns!! This movie had a slow start, but it picks up fast and never
slows down until the credits roll. Its about a 1942 navy ship and the men
aboard, who were sent on a mission to retrieve crucial data and equipment to
help the Americans win the war against the German forces! The journey shows you
the hell these men went through out there, and remembers those who didn't
return!! It is based on a true story and it was definitely one worth
telling! If you are looking for a feel good movie with a lot of action, we
suggest you buy your tickets now for U-571!!
Where
the Heart is
Starring: Ashley Judd, Natalie Portman and Sally Field
Rating: 2 Thumbs up!!
This movie just never seemed to go anywhere. You had way to many plots to try to
follow, and it took forever for the plot to unfold. This could have definitely
been the lifetime movie of the week. If you are going to see it because your a
Sally Field fan, don't, she is only in the movie 5 minutes. We must say that
Natalie and Ashley both gave great performances, but it was still not enough to
save the movie!! Wait for video on this one!!
Gladiator
Starring: Rustle Crow, and Jaqulin Phoenix
Rating: 4 thumbs up!!
This is the best action movie I have seen in a long time, and for all you
ladies, don't worry there is great love story tied in also!! The movie follows
the rise and fall of the roman empire, and shows the courage of the man who
stood alone and faced Caesar himself. We must say there are a few place in the
middle of the movie where it does drag on a little, but with all the action and
suspense you hardly even notice! This is a must see, go out and enjoy it!!
Gone
in 60 Seconds
Starring: Nicholas Cage, Angelina Jolie
Rating: Triple thumbs Up!!
Although the movie had a slow start, when it picked up, it really picked up! It
was non stop action, and that's what we like! If you love car crashes, high
jumps, and speed racing, you have to see this movie!! Nicholas Cage delivers his
best performance since Conair! He plays a legendary retired car thief, who is
forced out of retirement to save the life of his younger brother who has
followed in his footsteps and ran into a lot of trouble!! Angelina Jolie plays
Cages former girlfriend, who he gave up when he went into retirement, let just
say sparks still fly after 6 years of not seeing her!! This is a must see for
car lovers everywhere!! Until next time we will see you at the movies!!

Rating System
Single Thumbs Up = Wait for the Video
Double Thumbs Up = Try to see a matinee,
but it's not a total loss at full price
Triple Thumbs Up = It actually
had a plot, and we didn't mind sitting through the movie
Quadruple Thumbs Up =
Take a Friend, take your lover, take your mom, or your brother, its good movie
to watch and enjoy
Quintuple Thumbs Up = A rare gem indeed: a movie so
good, we will pay to see it again!!
Rating: Triple Thumbs Up
Here we have another teen movie, but instead of our usual love twist,
we have a twist of the dark side of college fraternity life. A young man
from the wrong side of the tracks (Jackson) is lured into the fast pace
life of money, women, and fast cars!! But he has to sell his soul to the
leaders of the skulls in order to get it!! The movie has a good plot, but
you seem to lose your self in the middle when Jackson decides he wants
out, its very predictable of how its going to end!! There are several memorable
scenes, so we suggest if your first choice sells out, go see the
skulls!!
Erin
Brokovich
Starring: Julia Roberts
Rating: Quintuple Thumbs Up
What can we say, we have been with several groups of friends and seen
it twice already!! It is based on a true story of how a ordinary secretary
stumbles across a major cover-up by the Company PG&E that they are
contaminating the town near by, and causing a string of problem that
stretch from nose bleeds to tumors, to breast cancer!! This is a positive movie, and Julia Roberts delivers an Oscar performance. We have no
doubt this will be come her 4th movie to top 100 Million!
Rules of
Engagement
Starring: Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones
Rating: Double Thumbs Up
This movie had the potential to be so much better, we start out with an
action packed opening, then we fall into 2 hours of long drawn out
dialogue, and end up with a very predictable ending!! To sum that up for
you, in most movies where the star of the movie is on trial 99% of the
time they get off, the same falls true for (Jackson) as well. He is a very
highly decorated marine sent on a mission to protect an American embassy
in the middle east that is under attack. When he gets his men in position,
he must make a crucial decision, after losing 5 marines already, he gives
the order to fire on the crowd below, even though there are women and
children mixed in with the gunmen!! He has to bring old friend and former
combat partner (Jones) out of retirement to defend him. What follows is a
trial longer than the OJ Simpson trial!! Try to catch it on a matinee and
save 3 bucks!
Final
Destination
Starring: Devon Sawa and Kerr Smith
Rating: Triple Thumbs Up
This movie had an awesome 1st hour, it was full of action and
suspense,
but then it got cheesy. Its about 6 teenagers who are flying off to there spring break, but for some reason or another, they are all thrown off the
plane that ends up crashing!! But death comes after them for cheating
him!! He start picking them off one by one! This movie is not a total
loss, there were several scenes where the whole audience jumped!! But it
lost a lot during hour two!! Be prepared for a Final Destination 2.
American
Psycho
Starring: Christian Bale and Jared Leto
Rating: Single Thumbs Up
This was one of the worst movies ever. It has everything from bad
acting right down to the stupid ending!! Its about a New York Yuppie by day
and killer by night!! This was the longest 2 hours of our life. He kills
everything from beautiful New York business women to drunks in alleyways.
This movie just goes on and on with no end in site! Several people walked
out!! Something told us to go with them, but oh well live and learn!!!
Hanging
Up
Starring: Diane Keaton, Meg Ryan, and Lisa Kudrow
Rating: Triple Thumbs Up
This movie is the family version of the 1st wives club!! The 3
actresses obviously work very well together, but again the movie just
seems to start dragging itself out in the middle! You basically have 3
sisters, (Ryan) the middle daughter takes the brunt of taking care of her
aging sick father, (Keaton) the oldest sister, is president of her own
magazine that is named after her, and (Kudrow) is dating all the wrong men
and always running off to different places!! It is very apparent from the
beginning there are a lot of hang-ups in this family!! There are several
emotional scenes in the movie, and it does make you want to call your
family, just to say hello when you get home!! If it just wouldn't have
taken so long to get to that great ending, it could have been so much
better!!
Big Mama's
House
Starring: Martin Lawrence and Nia Long
Rating: Quadruple Thumbs Up
If you need a good laugh, this is the movie for you! Martin Lawrence
delivers his funniest performance yet. He plays an FBI agent who has to go
undercover as a 300lb black woman to catch a bank robber, and what follows
is two hours of nonstop laughing!! Nia Long plays big mamas granddaughter,
and she just happens to be the bank robbers girlfriend. This movie has your
basic love story tied in with a lot of laughs, this movie is a must see for
all ages!! Until next time, we will see you at the movies!!
Mission
Impossible 2
Starring: Tom Cruise and Thandie Newton
Rating: Quintuple Thumbs Up
This was an awesome movie, it has something for everyone. Its full of action, laughs, and there is even a little drama thrown in for good measure. We thought that this sequel was better than part 1. This is going to be the summer's first blockbuster, but the competition is going to be thick this season as to which movie will gross the most overall. Tom Cruise plays special agent (Ethan Hunt) which picks up from where MI1 left off, but we are introduced to a new leading lady, newcomer Thandie Newton(Beloved) delivers an excellent performance as the bad girl who makes a change for the best!! She holds her own against Mr. Cruise up on the big screen!!
