I was just reading the posts on here, and got to thinking about nicknames. I would like to know if anyone else out there has special nicknames for eachother. Here is my story:This is me (Mary Beth) and my twin sis Angela:
When I was in third grade, there was this boy who was picking on me and he thought that "Mary Beth" rhymed with "Hairy Breast", so that is what all the kids called me. Angela had a similar experience. Because both of us have slightly crooked teeth (it's weird that we do, yet our two older sisters have straight teeth, hmmm?); this boy in her class started calling her "Snaggletoothed Beaver". Now, you may think this is crule and hurtful, and it was back then, but the names just sort of stuck and now I call her "Beave" and she calls me "Hairy". We don't even address eachother by our real names anymore and my family does the same. Even our three year old niece calls us "Beave" and "Hairy". It's cute now. But, these names have had their downfalls! On Christmas last year, my older sis Jenny was telling her boyfriend about our weird nick names, and my boyfriend (who had consumed one too many white russians) screams out in front of the whole family: "Combined their name is 'Hairy Beaver!'
