I don't know what's wrong, maybe it's just me. My identical twin sister wishes I were never born. It's not that I've done anything mean to her, she just wants to be "different". She's always miserable when I'm around and often tells me where to go. I'm 5 pounds heavier than she is which allows for her never ending comments that I'm fat and ugly. She hates being seen anywhere outside the house with me and doesn't delay physical fights if I want to do something the same as her. Please help me, I feel really bad that I've ruined her life and I don't know how to fix it. What should I do?

Don't feel that you have ruined your sister's life. She is the only one who can be responsible for her accusations. It must be very painful to be treated this way. You have to try and remember that you are who you are. This is not your fault, it is your blessing. Your sister has no right to blame you for something you can not control. You can not control how she feels either. Try and have confidence in yourself. It's hard, but as long as this lasts, the only thing you may be able to do is give your sister her space. Try and make friends who appreciate you. And don't let your sister ruin your life. You have to fight for what is yours. You deserve the freedom of being able to live without being afraid of "intruding" into what is hers. If you want to work for the school newspaper, or take flute lessons, or anything that is your dream, don't let her stop you. Sooner or later, your sister has to find out what a wonderful person you are, but in the meantime, you need to discover it for yourself. [ 09-26-2003: Message edited by: Haleth ]
