I am new to this site and i was wondering what half-identical twins are. my doctor thinks my brother and i might be half-identical. if anyone has any information to give me that would be awesome

There are a few posts on this very topic, but the short answer is that "half identical twinning" has NOT been proven to occur in human beings and if it did occur would be nearly impossible to test for. It is a theory only.

I have spoken with a geneticist who was attempting to test for this phenomenon and he stated that he has not found a single case of it happening in humans and that it would be nearly impossible to test for with DNA.

Your doctor is mistaken.
